1. Overview

Instant Domain Rating (“the Extension”) is provided as-is for general use. By installing or using the Extension, you agree to these Terms.

The Extension is a free and open-source Chrome extension that helps you view Ahrefs Domain Rating data for the website you are currently browsing.

2. Use of the Extension

You are free to use, modify and distribute this Extension in accordance with its open-source license.

You agree not to:

  • Use the Extension for unlawful purposes
  • Attempt to exploit, reverse engineer, or misuse the Extension in a harmful way
  • Use the Extension in a way that violates Ahrefs’ terms, API rules, rate limits, or access requirements
  • Use an Ahrefs API key that you are not authorised to use

3. Ahrefs API Key Requirement

The Extension requires you to bring your own Ahrefs API key.

The developer does not provide Ahrefs API access, does not sell Ahrefs data, and does not guarantee that your Ahrefs API key will work with the Extension.

You are responsible for:

  • obtaining valid Ahrefs API access
  • entering and maintaining your own API key
  • protecting your API key
  • managing any Ahrefs usage limits, quotas, billing, permissions, or account restrictions
  • ensuring your use of Ahrefs data complies with Ahrefs’ terms and policies

4. Ahrefs Data

Domain Rating data is provided by Ahrefs.

The developer does not calculate, verify, edit or control Ahrefs Domain Rating scores. The Extension displays data returned by Ahrefs based on the request made from your browser and the access available to your API key.

Ahrefs may change its API, metrics, availability, pricing, rate limits, response format, or access requirements at any time. The developer is not responsible for those changes.

5. No Warranty

The Extension is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including:

  • Fitness for a particular purpose
  • Reliability or availability
  • Accuracy of functionality
  • Accuracy, completeness, freshness, or availability of Ahrefs data
  • Continued compatibility with Ahrefs, Chrome, or any third-party service

Use it at your own risk.

6. Limitation of Liability

The creator is not liable for any damages or losses resulting from:

  • Use or inability to use the Extension
  • Data loss, interruption, or errors
  • Any unintended behavior within the Extension
  • Ahrefs API outages, errors, limits, billing, account restrictions, or data changes
  • Decisions made based on Domain Rating scores or other data returned by Ahrefs

7. Third-Party Services

The Extension interacts with third-party services, including Ahrefs and Chrome.

The creator is not responsible for changes, outages, pricing, terms, policies, data, scores, API responses, restrictions, or behavior of those services.

Your use of Ahrefs is governed by Ahrefs’ own terms and policies. Your use of Chrome and the Chrome Web Store is governed by Google’s own terms and policies.

8. Privacy

The Extension’s privacy approach is explained in the Privacy Policy.

You are responsible for deciding whether the Extension is appropriate for your own use case, browser profile, device, organisation, and compliance requirements.

9. Changes to These Terms

These Terms may be updated at any time. Continued use of the Extension means you accept any updates.
