What it does ¶

A lightweight Chrome extension that shows the Domain Rating of the website you are viewing in your browser.

Instant Domain Rating uses Ahrefs data through your own Ahrefs API key, so you can quickly check domain strength without leaving the page you are already researching.

Why it exists ¶

Domain Rating checks often interrupt research.

Most people:

copy a domain from the browser
open a separate SEO tool
paste the domain into a lookup form
switch back to the original site

This tool removes that friction by making Domain Rating visible directly in the browser workflow.

How it works ¶

Install the Chrome extension
Add your own Ahrefs API key in the extension settings
Browse to the website you want to check
Open the extension while on the page
The extension requests the current domain’s rating from Ahrefs
The Domain Rating is shown immediately in the browser

Instant Domain Rating does not provide Ahrefs access itself. You need to bring your own Ahrefs API key for the extension to work.

Data source ¶

Domain Rating data is provided by Ahrefs.

We do not calculate, verify, edit or control the Ahrefs Domain Rating score returned by the API. If a score is missing, delayed, unavailable or different from what you expect, that result comes from the Ahrefs data and API response available to your key at the time of the request.

Getting an API Key ¶

Create a free account at ahrefs.com
Go to account settings => https://app.ahrefs.com/account/my-account
Select ‘API keys’ under workspace on the left hand side
Click on ‘Generate API key for public endpoints’
Paste the API Key into the extension settings
